A great way to promote your website is by using social bookmarking sites such as furl, stumble,digg etc… If you look hard enough you will find almost everyone of them here on www.talkandmore.net . Just sign up for free accounts on these sites and submit your urls. make sure you use nice descriptive sentences with keywords. if you work hard at this you will be very surprised at the results you can get from social bookmarking. There are also some toolbars that make submitting links to these sites even faster and easier.
Seeing that we are on the topic of free internet promotion I might as well mention another great tip that is both easy and free.
First, pick a topic that you know about that is related to your website. This tip will do nothing for you if the content is not related to your website. Now, write an article on the topic. Take your time and use many keywords and keyword phrases. Try to use perfect puntuation and spelling and remember to be very descriptive. In this article include a couple links to your site. It would be benificial to not only include a link to your main url but also to some sub pages. Don’t get carried away with the links. My opinion is that 3 to 5 works best in an article that is fairly long.
Now, sign up for an account at Digg and submit your article. Eventually this content packed article will find it’s way into the search engines and hopefully get you some extra traffic.
What I try to do when I have time is write a few decent articles on various site related content. I then use these articles for submission either through article sites such as dig or through blogs which brings me to the next topic.
There are many free blogs out there just like this one. A blog is a great way to help promote your content. What makes it even better is the fact that people can respond to your blogs which will add even more content! I believe that content is king when it comes to promting a website. The more content and the better the content you have on your site, the more pages will get indexed into the search engines and the more traffic you will have. Blogs are a great way to add content to just about any site.
