It has been some time since my last entry and I am really sorry to those of you that have supported me in the past.

About 4 months ago I purchased an ATI HD 5770 graphics card specifically for it’s multi monitor abilities. After using dual monitors for many years and after finally upgrading to LCD monitors I decided I could no longer live with dual monitors. I bought this HD5770 stupidly believing I would install the card, plug in my monitors and be all set to go. Man was I wrong! It turns out you need to utilize the display port with at least one monitor. As luck would have it, I don’t own a monitor with a display port.
I took to the internet and found out I would have to purchase an active display port adapter that would plug into a usb port and convert the Display Port to DVI. It took me awhile but I finally found the adapter for this purpose at Dell. The adapter here was around $105 or $110 I believe and it was labeled “BizLink” if memory serves me. After finally getting this adapter and installing it I found it would only work at lower resolutions! I tried everything to fix this and I will not go through that nightmare by making a list. I will just repeat that I tried EVERYTHING and nothing would work. After 3 months and many weeks over my return date expired Dell was nice enough to still give me a refund and an rma. Using the Dell rma I dropped off the crappy adapter at a ups store and I had my money back in 4 days!! I could not believe it!! hats off to Dell for backing their items even when they do not make them.
To make a long story short, I found a replacement here and it actually worked perfectly!!! i have read all of the problems with the various active display port adapters and trust me, this one is not the other one re-branded as someone was spreading on the net. This is a much better part. It a bit thicker and it is packaged much better and it works flawlessly. In addition it was about $15 cheaper with free shipping!! I ordered it and chose the standard, free shipping option and I was very surprised to have it in 3 days!!
I have a beautiful 3 monitor set up now! For web development work I use 3 individual desktops and for gaming I simply switch profiles and use a group setting. Playing games with 3 monitors is like nothing you can even imagine! It is amazing! I thought working with 2 large monitors was great for web design etc but having 3 large desktops to work with is so helpful. I am already planning on my next upgrade so I can add another monitor!
